R&Q and Global Re of Germany (formerly Gerling Global Re) have joined forces again to set up a Rendez-Vous in Cologne. 8-10 March 2010 will see the Fifth Cologne Commutations Rendez-Vous at the Marriott Hotel close to the Rhine. Based on R&Q's now famous event in Norwich, this Rendez-Vous seeks to bring together European insurers and reinsurers to discuss closing down business relationships in the most efficient way possible; one trip to Cologne might save a reinsurer having to travel to ten or fifteen different cities to hold talks.

As well as providing an infrastructure for commutation discussions, to be arranged in advance between counter-parties, the event will also give ideal networking opportunities for delegates to broaden their range of contacts in this fast-moving market.

Following the Norwich model, the event will start with a dinner on the Monday evening and be followed by two days of commutation discussions in rooms broken up into meeting areas.

Please be aware that the Marriott only has a limited number of reduced rate bedrooms (starting at EUR €159 for a deluxe single room inc breakfast), available for delegates. This special booking rate has very kindly been extended until 9 February 2010. We recommend booking as soon as possible to avoid disappointment with the special rate.

Global Re will be using its widespread office network to promote the event and to bring risk carriers to Cologne who have not yet been present in Norwich or New Jersey. As well as the exciting business potential.
