Randall & Quilter is a diverse insurance group, headquartered in London but with extensive operations in the UK, Europe, North America and Bermuda.

The Group is a leading insurance service provider to the non-life insurance market. Its extensive service offering (ranging from full claims management to broker performance monitoring) covers the live, run-off and captive market segments.

The Group also owns a portfolio of 11 insurance companies in run-off (from the UK, US and Continental Europe) with net assets of c.£85.9m as at 30 June 2012.

R&Q is also "Turnkey" manager of syndicate 1897 for Skuld. This represents an important milestone in the Group’s wider underwriting management plans, which include team incubation and capital provision.

R&Q MGA Limited is a regulated, multi-line underwriting agency. The companies within the platform are: R&Q Marine Services Limited, R&Q Commercial Risk Services Limited and Synergy Insurance Services (UK) Limited.

R&Q Managing Agency Limited has established Lloyd's Syndicate 1991 for 2013.

On 1 November 2010 the Group acquired the Reinsurance Solutions businesses from Guy Carpenter and Marsh Limited.

The RSL businesses specialise in the provision of administration and consulting services to the active and run-off (re)insurance industry. The fit with the Group's existing operations in the UK is excellent. As well as bringing the efficiency benefits of scale, RSL UK further establishes Randall & Quilter as a leading player in the broker replacement market. In the US, RSL provides the Group with a substantial third party service business.

In addition, the Group acquired Excess & Treaty Management Corporation ('ETMC') from Guy Carpenter on 30 September 2010.  ETMC is a management company for the run-off of the $1.4bn Excess Casualty Reinsurance Association ('ECRA') pool, the participants of which are major players in the North American reinsurance market.
